Description

NIHR CLAHRC West Midlands is a five-year programme funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and matched funds provided by local health and social services. The programme builds on the successful CLAHRC for Birmingham & Black Country pilot with a mission to create lasting and effective partnerships across health and social care organisations, universities (Birmingham, Keele and Warwick) to improve the services we can deliver for patient benefit. Public involvement in research

Patient and public involvement (PPI) enables us to engage patients, members of the public and carers in our research. Our PPI advisors act as critical friends, advising on the development and co-ordination of PPI in our research activities. PPI involvement is at three levels; the management of the scientific enterprise, the design of service interventions and public engagement where we involve PPI as citizens.
